Mölnlycke Health Care sends wound care and surgical supplies to Haiti

As a direct response to the disaster in Haiti, Mölnlycke Health Care is donating €100,000 worth of products to selected crisis relief agencies to help alleviate the suffering of the victims and to help re-supply hospitals.

After the earthquake in Haiti, the human suffering and catastrophic shortage of basic supplies has put many thousands of people at risk for their lives. As part of its corporate responsibility policy and as a leading manufacturer of surgical, wound care and infection control products, Mölnlycke Health Care wants to offer its support in a meaningful way.

The donation, mounting to €100,000, includes thousands of surgical gloves, highly absorbent wound dressings, self-adhesive dressings, surgical gowns, antiseptic products as well as custom procedure trays and kits for surgery.

Mölnlycke Health Care is also a Corporate Ambassador of Operation Smile - a charity that gives children from developing countries the opportunity to undergo surgery for cleft lip and palate correction. Operation Smile recently sent a group of surgeons and medical staff to Haiti.

“As we are all aware, the earthquake in Haiti has caused a severe humanitarian crisis of historic proportions. I know that many of you have made donations and offered support in other ways, and I applaud your caring and concern” said Pierre Guyot, CEO of Mölnlycke Health Care, in an internal statement to employees world-wide.
