Mölnlycke Health Care donates ProcedurePak® trays to Haiti

Haiti still suffers from the heavy earthquake that affected the country in January this year. In an effort to ease the human suffering in Haiti, Mölnlycke Health Care continues to donate medical supplies to volunteer organizations operating in the country.

Mölnlycke Health Care has earlier this month donated surgical gloves, highly absorbent wound dressings, self-adhesive dressings, surgical gowns and antiseptic products and is now also donating ProcedurePak® custom procedure trays. ProcedurePak is a full service solution of trays offering the right products and equipment needed for each intervention. The delivery includes a variety of trays for different procedures including for example trays composed for knee arthroscopy, abdominal invasive and vaginal minor procedures.

Three trucks filled with the ProcedurePak assortment are on their way to the Belgian organization “Medics without Vacation” supporting the victims in Haiti. “Medics without Vacation” comprises about 600 doctors and nurses. During their holidays they spend two to three weeks treating patients in hospitals in third world countries, mainly in Africa.

Mölnlycke also supports the organization “Operation Smile” which now has its 7th team of medical staff on location in Haiti. The organization plans to keep sending teams of surgeons, nurses and volunteers to Haiti, in order to support the country’s hospitals. In the organization’s blog, staff tells the stories of their daily life in Haiti, which includes treating patients with amputations, pressure wounds and other injuries.
